And Jeff said:Thanks, Hans! That was my CV 28 at 1.9 as I remember. It's a crop from a test image shortly after I bought it from the Bartender a few years ago.

Here's one from a Minolta 58 f/1.4 MC Rokkor PF (SLR lens, sorry), shot wide open on Tmax P3200 @ 3200 ISO.
And here's one from my Cannonet QL-17 GIII, at f/1.7, on Plus-X.
There aren't nearly enough Heliar Classic 50/2 shots in this thread, so here's one. I should have more once I find time to do some scanning.
Heliar Classic 50/2 @ f/2.8 (I think) on Sensia 400.

Recently I lucked into a gorgeous chrome (mid-1950s) Jupiter-3 50mm f/1.5 on eBay for $90. It came straight out of the Ukraine from the seller sp314. The glass is pristine, the barrel is largely untarnished, and the focus ring is very light and smooth. It also appears to focus correctly wide open.
The performance is everything that I could hope for. It has that juicy and gentle bokeh that sonnars are famous for, but also a gentle sharpness that brings out a lot of detail without a hint of being harsh.

Some recent shots with two different lenses/bodies.
First shot shows some unexpected results from a newly acquired Nikkor 50/1.4 AI (manual focus). It exhibits much better characteristics than my other ("middle-of-the-road") Nikkors, the only exception being 85/1.8 AF, which I rather like.
So, first the Nikkor 50/1.4 (snail photo), which, surprisingly, exhibits a rather nice swirl. Me like
The second and third shots are Summicron 50/2 collapsible (the one I had recoated at Arax). The second (branch/leaves) shows some rather annoying (to me) sharply rendered OOF circles. But, what can you do... I see that the Noct is similar (if not worse) in this regard
(Personally, I don't really like sharply rendered OOF highlight cirles - find them rather distracting.... However, in some shots those can be put to good use....)
The third is again the same Cron 50/2 (forrest path), exhibiting just a hint of swirl...

And now, something completely different
Large format (4x5), Speed Graphic body and Aero Ektar 178/2.5 lens (a.k.a. the "monster"
)
Paper thin DOF fully open, rather difficult to handle with people. I was lucky to get anything sharp here - I'd have to glue the kids in place to get hem both sharp
