The "Ultimate" Newbie Seller Post?

A truly collectible beauty from the early 1960's. This SP Black is authentic in all respects. It is an honest mint minus condition cosmetically and all controls are functional. The 28 mm lens is definately mint and comes with cap. This camera has been in my wife's families closet for 35 years!

Q: A $2500 to $3000 camera being offered by a 0 score newbie seller. I got to watch this just to see it go nowhere! Good luck.

A: My guide says this camera in excellent condition is worth 5000. I challenge you to find an example of this camera in better condition! Sorry if I haven't been wasting my time trying to sell junk on line. I have one item that some collector somewhere is going to make the centerpiece of their collection. Thanks for your insincere good wishes and I hope you have the day you deserve.

He had this camera on Ebay before (# 7584729164 ). In the question section he states that the camera was found at an airport in the 1970's, turn in but never claimed. He had it listed at $9,000.

I reported a more sinister one last night. A guy had hijacked some guy's account with 700+ positive feedback (apparently all for selling records) and listed 4 or 5 one day auctions for MF Kodak DCS pro digital backs. 1000 dollars buy it now (only no buy it now option). Instructions to email him at an address in the auction, not through ebay.

It is really sad because people come to ebay and see a "too good to be true" price by a guy with a 99.9% rating and over 700 feedback and they just take it hook line and sinker. Ebay is such a great resource, but you really really need to be careful.

When he had it listed for $9,000, the camera was in "very nice condition." Now it's $8,500 and in "honest mint minus condition"

I see where he says it was found in an airport and then stored in his mother in law's closet for 30 years. This time it was in the closet for 35 years with nothing mentioned about the item being found at the airport.

It would be interesting to see if the camera, serial # 6219010, was ever reported stolen.

Never know, maybe he killed someone for it so the owner wasn't alive to report it. Just a thought. 🙁

I actually wrote the seller and he said he'd seen "worse" ones sell for $5000 and isn't a "newbie" just has been "biding his time" until he could offer something that wasn't junk like everything else on eBay is.

Got to admit - he has very high "self esteem"! 😀

I was thinking about bidding on this camera... but only if RJ will agree to pick it up for me. RJ has mighty big biceps. (Those *are* real, aren't they?)

They'd better be real otherwise I'm wasting my time at Gold's Gym.
I don't think the seller is going to let anyone pick up the camera unless they're bringing cash.

What does this camera actually go for - on average - in ebay auctions?

This guy's an idiot if he honestly believes its mint minus. You can clearly see scratches and brassing in the photos. WAFJ

One just like that but mint when for less than $2000 Canadian last Fall at a local camera shop. I was interested in it but someone living down the street from me had all ready put a deposit on it.
