The "Ultimate" Newbie Seller Post?

It also came with at least 1 Nikon lens. There were some other ones too---an S2 was one of them---and I can't recall the other one. I think it also was an S2.

Now that I think of I can't recall if it was an SP or an S3. All that hubba for nothing. 🙄

There are so few black original SPs that it's hard to fix a value because they change hands so rarely. $5,000 or so is a very rough estimate for one in such nice shape. Most black ones were owned by professionals and were treated accordingly. Prices fluctuate a lot because of such limited supply and demand, and Nikon skewed the classic market a bit when it reissued the S3 and SP.

I offered $2,500 if it does not sell for a face to face at the seller's bank of choosing. I am open to negotiate the $$ somewhat.

Well, a close-to-mint chrome SP, documented one-owner with a desireable "Olympic" 50mm lens recently sold for well over $4,000. Realistically, even a very beat-up original black paint SP is going to go for well over $4,000 unless the owner is desperate. $2,500 strikes me as way too low an offer. I have no connection with that particular camera ... just pay attention to SP sales. If he'd just put it out with a $2,500 starting bid and a cautious reserve, he might actually see some action.

Funny thing is that the seller told me in the e-mail that he heard a black one should go for arond $5000 and since his was so much better he figured what?

I'm not bidding - anyone else go right ahead!
