These two shots kind of sum up my initial struggle to see what street photography was about when I first started out. Both seem so ordinary and devoid of any stand out interest when you don't understand what you're looking at.

For a long time I'd look at the work of many acclaimed street photographers whilst at college and simply not understand what it was I was supposed to be looking at leaving me curious to know why they had reached such 'star' status among photographers.

Now images such as these remind me why I love this kind of photography, as Holmes would say "the games afoot" and why not make a game of it, for me it certainly beats sitting on a hill for three hours waiting for the light to hit the valley just right:angel:

I like both. The great 'decisive moment' of the first, and the cool 'ghostliness' of the second. Did you achieve the ghost look by dodging in post production?

I have no opinion as to the "streetiness" of this or any other photo in this thread (well, no opinion worth sharing, anyway) but I really love this photograph. The light, the leading lines, the tiny silhouetted figure tucked up in the top corner.

Thanks Simon and I totally agree with your assessment and I love the first image from (Simon I think). My shot was first about hte light then the V comp and all the triangles...

Yes I really like it to....There are some very good images in this thread.
