The Undead Street

Initially that there was nothing happening on the street and now that what is posted here is more concerned with camera collecting and lens testing.

I to would like to see the posts in this thread that are concerned with gear. So far I think it has been a very image driven thread clearly showing the streets are alive and maybe even more important today to be turning the camera to the streets.

My views are that the street is one area that really exploits the one thing that still photography does best. Freezes a moment in time. No other art form does it the same way photography does it. I think Meyerowitz says it best in this very short trailer and it's clearly the reason I love it so much:

robert, that photo with the tiny flag on the tree trunk, the man in the gap, and the tent on the right is an excellent composition, well timed. amazing how my eye was drawn first to the little flag.

stewart, the photo of the woman flanked by two dogs is beautifully framed.

shiro, i like the muted color in your photo of the woman in red coat.

... that hits many compositional bulls-eyes sir

stewart, why the two white borders? do they show how a full-frame 35mm film shot would look, uncropped, on an 8x10-inch sheet of photo paper?

Thanks for the commentary, Paul. I hope to repay some interest into the commentary comity here today. But for now,
