Yesterday, during my regular visits to the local charity shops, i came across Bert Hardy's autobiography for a couple of pounds.

The work of Bert Hardy is probably well know to many RFF'ers but it is one of those names that you dont see very often being mentioned. His work is outstanding - for those not familiar with his work a google search will reveal a lot of his great work. Here is one video i found online.

I always liked his work, anyone familiar with the 1950s UK magazine called Picture Post would be very familiar with Hardy's photo style and work.

I won't say I'm impressed as photography, but it is impressive documentary work for particular time frame.

You know, with COVID many people I know and me are just watching YouTube videos where people are walking with camera and just showing life as it is.
In the past it was not so easily possible, but his photos are brining this sense of raw documentary. It is also more than photo registering. To some extend.
It is well exposed pictures of infesting times, simply because, at least to me, it is interesting to see real pictures from the past.

Thousands of his pictures here:

Thank you Pan, I was not familiar with Bert Hardy's work but appreciate the opportunity to see his work, and some really special images and his ability to connect with people he photographed.
