The world's first RangeFinder Camera

Is the Leica A considered the world's first Rangefinder camera if you take into consideration the range-finder attachment that was made available for this camera - or was there a rangefinder camera prior to the Leica A?
 
Actually the first camera which included a rangefinder was a Kodak Autographic Special around 1917. Not all of the Autographic Specials had a rangefinder, but several models did.
 
NVARon, thanks for that information. It's about ten years earlier than I thought the rangefinder functionality was introduced.
 
If you want to take a look at it, you can find it in the "Rangefinder" book by R. Hicks & Frances Schultz. Must have been quite a feat to carry that camera around... :)
