Hey, guys, a quick thankyou to everyone who gave great advice on manual flashes. I got some good photos from the day at my friends martial arts class, and the two best from the XA I've put in my gallery. (There's also a group shot of the class, which worked well but isn't great from an artistic POV).

Quite a few relatively well exposed shots in difficult circumstances, a lot of poorly framed shots (dammit, I need to point the camera DOWN more!) and the XA was often out of focus due, in part, to working in difficult lighting and moving subjects, and relatively large apertures, and in part to simply not concentrating enough. Nontheless, my mate is very happy with the results I've shown him, and really, that's what counts. He's asked for copies of a few. Anyway, couldn't have done it without you guys.

Nice photos. Martial arts are always hard to photograph. Sometimes you need more than one flash to do it best. You did well though. Thanks for sharing.
