The Zuiko 50mm Bokeh Thread

I have a question on your 50mm f1.4

I have a question on your 50mm f1.4

I LOVE my 50/1.4 and have used it extensively on my Canon 5D.

I also have the 50/1.8 but don't like it nearly as much. I do like how small it is however and sometimes that takes precedent depending on the situation.

Please note...some of the vignetting above and at the link was added in post production.

I am led to understand that there are variants of the 50 1.4. Noted by the chrome on the front of the filter ring, or absence. I don't recall that exactly.

However another common perception is that 1.4's over 1 million in SN are better than all below 1 million SN.

What SN is your 1.4.

I have owned a few of the 1.4's but never the over 1M number. All the 1.4's i owned seem to be good on bokeh, but the 50's I have owned have consistently sharper, but bokeh at 1.8 not as good (naturally) but even considering the differen f-stop not as good bokeh as one might expect, if I am making sense here.

55/1.2 wide open and up close,
