Yup.

And don't forget about the Desert Eagle .50, any of which I wouldn't want to be on the business end of.

FFS! Only here could a brief note about a local tragedy turn into a half-arsed discussion on gear!

.357 SIG makes a very loud bang, I prefer the good ole .45ACP

my wife heard the gunshots, I didn't. (yes, I live in the bad part of town). I got up and went down to the police line w/M3.
I felt like a ghoul, kinda. Took some photos. Don't think they'll be any good. But I felt uncomfortable being there.
You tried to capture a dramatic event. You would only be a "ghoul" if you took pictures of someone in trouble and didn't try to help them. Sounds like the guy in question was way past helping. If it were a child who was hurt, that would different - I would likely be too broken up to think of taking a photo.
Haven't had a murder on my block in several years, but if there is one I hope to have the presence of mind to take a photo - assuming of course I'm not the one on the pavement. Hah hah.

touché...However, there is a Glock of that caliber. (For your safety: such weapons not to be handled unless trained to handle lethal weapons)
So they aren't toys then?

Perhaps we should have a separate small-arms sub-forum, where interested owners could compare ... shame about the victim, and the loss to their family and friends

Sparrow, great idea
and, well, in the interest of accuracy, AK's, AR's, MP-5's, etc. have magazines, not clips; Springfield '03 and Garand M1 are clip fed rifles. Indeed there are half-moon clips for revolvers, but none of .357 caliber,at least so far as I know, but there is such a device instead for .45 caliber. There is indeed a caliber with the numerals 357, however, it is not .357 caliber, it is instead 357Sig, and Glock does indeed mfg a model that loads that round.
There, now that everyone is on the same page with nomenclature

Oh, in the interest of being fully complete the 357Sig is 9mm bullet ensconced in necked down .40SW case. There, now everybody is as fully up to date as I can make them.
Now, I'm back to the Philly news where the body count continues to soar.

There was also a murder (a fatal shooting) down the street from where I live about a year ago, so I kind of know how it can shake up your sense of security on every level. Maybe that's why this thread went so off-topic.
I think you were right to go out with your camera, you're a photographer. I also think you were right not to use it if you didn't see a compelling photograph at that scene - you're not a ghoul.
