Yes, I did read that, and it's exactly what baffles me. It's one of the pieces I can't wrap my mind around- - - a starting photojournalist using an RF and 28mm to photograph people in a war zone (I don't know what the "etc. etc." refers to). Maybe I jumped to the conclusion that "photojournalist" as he used it did not refer to a profession or career, but to an adventurous traveler seeing the world. Maybe something different occurs to us when we think of "war zone." I'm not trying to disrespect the OP; maybe he'll say a bit more about himself, the photo work he's done or would like to do.Rob-F said:Martin, did you read all posts before posting your response? I'd take two Konica Hexar AF one for outside picture with a 200 ASA film and another higher than 800ASA inside. It does not cost as much as a Leica M7 , far from that it is discret can be quick after some "proper training"....

Well, looks like my original post got lost in the cyber black hole. I ended up picking up an M6 0.85 on ebay for a really nice price. Although I planned on shooting wide rather than tele, I believe I will use this one to truly discover how intuitive using a rangefinder will be. Reading up, it looks like I'll spend a little money on some CV lens until I know for sure this is the right system for me.
Thanks again to all those who had taken their time to advise me.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I mentioned which viewfinder it had. In the heat of the moment, bidding on ebay, I figured it was a 0.72, however, after I bid I realized it was a 0.85. Then the auction ended, with me being the winning bidder, haha.
No big deals. I'll just get a 50 and test that out. Besides 50 mm is my absolute favorite focal length to shoot. It's funny that of all the 'L' Canon lens I own, my $80 50mm lens happens to be my favorite. Go figure. That's like a Ferrari owner driving a VW Jetta.
