If I ever get another SLR-style Fuji then I might be tempted; but it's too chunky to replace the 18/2 on my X-Pro2.

I just had a look and BH has the 1.4/18 on preorder for $999. It annoys me that the lens hood is sold separately for $70. Cheers, OtL

Like some of the others, it's too big for me.
I seldom use lenses other than the Fujicrons and the 18/2. For me, the beauty of Fuji is an XPro with a small lens.

It comes with a hood, just not the fancy metal square hood. Fuji has done this before and I actually like that a premium hood is available as an option.

No. In the US. At least with BH it doesn't come with a hood. The hood is optional at a cost of $70. In Ontario the lens sells for C$1,275 + 13% HST. Not sure if the hood is included there. Cheers, OtL

I just preordered my 18/1.8 lens...salesman says it comes with plastic petal hood and for 69 bucks a squared off metal hood is available.
