I have no real info on this lens yet but I must admit I am interested...a sharp fast 18mm lens sounds enticing...
anyone else thinking about one?

Too big for me, would have preferred a 18/2 Model II please and thank you. Even if they needed to go down to f3.5 to make is better than the original and keep the size the same.

No, I’m not into 28mm too much. I might be interested in the 70-300mm believe it or not. Other than that, I just want a GFX-50R and will concentrate on trying to get one.

It's the lens I've been waiting for ever since they announced the 23/1.4, but it's a shame that Fuji screwed up the framelines on the X-Pro 3. I could always spring for the XT4 though.
At this point I'm more interested in Nikon's 28mm/40mm compact Z lenses, whenever they get announced.

Already have the 18/2 and 16/1.4, so I have no interest in this one.
16/1.4 here, and I prefer that focal length. So...no.
But this is an important release for Fuji, so good on them. As well as on the new zooms...

Yeah, there was an introductory video where they showed a prototype. They didn’t go into super detail or that close, but the size looked consistent with the sizes of the other large (for fuji) F1.4 lenses, like the 23mm and 16mm. It wasn’t small like the 35mm f1.4.
As for me, yeah, seems too big. I’d rather get the F2.0. But also totally agree, good on Fuji for making this lens.

Wonder if they'd bother to update the AF motor.
If it's still the old noisy one may just gonna wait for the Viltrox equivalent...

I really like the 18mm f2, so probably not for me. I'm sure it'll be nice though...

This interests me as well but size and price will probably stop me getting one. I'd love the 18mm f2 but am worried it will be slow focusing now i've sold my x-t3 for a x-t1.

well, the lens is almost ready for delivery with an expected release in mid may sometime.
it seems a tad smaller than the other 1.4 lenses and the shape makes it look a bit smaller as well.
i have a couple of lenses that i'm thinking of trading in on the new one...i think the 28/1.4 would fit well on one of my xpro3 bodies.
add the 14/2.8 and the 35/2 and i'd have a smallish very sharp kit.

The XF 55-200 is a wonderful lens.

I’ve kept my Fuji Xpro2 despite mainly using my leica. I originally planned to sell it, but I use it as a compact beat around camera to bring with me when I don’t feel like thinking about photography. I kept the 18/2 and 35/2 kit and had thoughts of updating if the Xpro2 ever failed me. I have to say I’ve been really disappointed in what Fuji has done with their Xpro lineup between the bizarre xpro3 screen and even more damaging, the removal of the OVF adjustable frame lines. TO ME, the benefit of Fuji is its compactness. We sacrifice full frame for it. When they start making all these larger lenses, they begin creeping into size territory of the Sony, nikon, canon world. I think that’s a mistake but time will tell. I would likely have bought an 18/2 v2 w improved AF and WR. This new 18 1.4 I’m sure will be optically superb, but it’s size is a big turnoff. I really hope Fuji sorta readjusts itself back to its compact ethos.

I'm interested, it may be a bit big but 18mm is nice on the X-Pro2. Here's a video that gives some insight into the size... seems roughly the same as the 56mm

Lenses can be wonderful, yet not be interesting or useful for a particular person. Actually, I'd say now I really only want to use lenses between 40mm and 75mm.

The X-Pro3 doesn't have 18mm framelines. :bang:
Maybe someone can rehouse the glass for M-mount, and transplant the R4A viewfinder into an Epson R-D1....
