I like digital and the convenience it offers and I don't have this imagined problem that haunts some people with it's so called 'sterile' look ... to me that indicates a lack of post processing skills and that needs to be addressed separately.
But I do accept that it can't give me an image that looks like it came out of my Pentax 67 or Crown Graphic. 135mm film I can take or leave but MF and LF are what keep me shooting film no matter how much better digital sensors get!

I understand the feelings the OP is going through. IMO if you love film, and you are only working on your personal projects, I don't think you will miss digital all that much. One caveat is that you should probably still own some kind of point and shoot or micro 4/3 for your family pics. I carry a GF1 along with me to supplement those times where I don't really want to make an exposure on film. But 99% of the time I have my M4-2 in my hand.
