for a Nikon 28Ti in the local Craigslist. Does anyone know how bad the shutter lag is on the Nikon 28Ti?
I really would like a 28mm ltm lens but this could be a way of getting that focal length.

Couldn't agree more ...keep the Hexar.

The best camera is one that still works!
Frank,
I suppose it depends on your personal level of comfort with the 28mm focal length but in some ways I wish my GR1V had been 35mm and not the 28mm it is ... I considered the Nikon because it exists in 35mm and it has Nikon's matrix metering system.
I suppose like the GR1V the shutter lag of the Nikon will be related to how quickly it can focus ... I'm not sure if you can prefocus the Nikon at various distances the way you can with the Ricoh but I see that as a definite advantage in any auto focus point and shoot. Aim the little Ricoh at something with no contrast and it gets lost straight away and balks the shutter!
KR has a thorough write up on the Nikon on his site and I read through it a couple of times whle deliberating over which camera to get.

trade the af for a 28 lens.
a separate camera just for the lens sounds like a pain in the patootie to me.

Okay, trade ya!
I'm keeping a black Hexar AF.
28mm is the focal length I'm interested in.
A CV 28 lens would be great. I sent a PM to the seller in the RFF classifieds.

We're all light!
To quote the opening line of a popular, mid-60s rock song:
No-no, no, no-no, no-no-no-no!
The Nikon Ti series is neat, even keen, with good glass and all. But neither the 28 or 35 are quite like the Hex AF.
I still miss mine from time to time. I am really, really happy with the Contax Tvs I bought from you, but I don't think I would've traded away a Hex for one.
Merely food for thought

Hmmm, Barret. Thank you. I have 28mm on my Tvs.
I'll hold out for a ltm 28mm lens.
Crisis averted!

So you lied about the 'digital verses film' threads?

Film vs digi threads drove him to drink, which brought on the headaches.

I think I've got a CV 25/4 LTM I'm not using. (No viewfinder though - I'm using that!)
