I kicked off this thought process last year - too many cameras (not by some people's standards) for me, too many 50s, too much choice etc. I had a feeling that as I acquired more gear, things got more complicated and my (already mediocre) photography suffered - spent more time comparing bodies, lenses and films than shooting real photographs. Add to this a shortage of time and a backlog of at least a dozen rolls to scan and you have where I'm coming from.

Anyway, a couple of weekends ago I made a decision to move out of film and stay with digital (almost completely, but not quite). Not because I think digital is better than film, I don't, but because the workflow is quicker, for me at least, and most of the shots of mine that I like were taken with either the Epson R-D1 or Olympus E1. Its a difficult decision, because I do really like film, I just don't have the time and I figure that if film is still around in a few years time ;) I can come back to it.

So, the M6 was up first and I have someone interested. Look out for the Bronica RF645 and my recently acquired MP and my R-D1 (just acquired an M8). May also list some more lenses and probably my Epson 4990 scanner. I'll let the photographic gods decide if I should keep any of it.:) Of course, it may be that a few months with the M8 will convince me that I should stick with film;)

I hear you!

I lke the digital workflow and quality, but hate lugging around a 5D and several big zooms.

On the other hand, I appreciate the small size and weight of a couple RFs and some lenses but don't much like scanning and getting rejections for grain.

Right now, Ive got both but I'm ready to jump to the first viable digital rangefinder that comes along — if it ever does.
