BillP said:Gustav, have you tried shooting RAW? You can set the D2 to B/W and the RAW capture is in colour. The v/f image is b/w. as is the jpg. Best of both worlds. I use Pixmantec Rawshooter Essentials to convert, btw.

An interesting thing- JPEG or RAW. Strangely I find I shoot my Canon exclusively in RAW and my Digilux2 nearly always in JPEG. This thread set me thinking "why?"
What I came up with was:
1.The color balance of the Digilux is so good that large corrections are usually not necessary.
2.Using the spot exposure in manual makes for less exposure errors, so those extra 1 1/2 stops one gets in RAW are normally not needed
3.The JPEG large has so few artifacts that that is also no reason to shoot RAW
4.Silverfast RAW conversion is not a program I like and PS nor Biddle supports Leica RAW.
So I feel Leica designed the camera for JPEG shooting and only put in RAW to justify the label "semipro camera"
Any thoughts out there?

Wasn't it JLW who was wondering the same thing but for the R-D1?
