Just wondering if anyone has any sample images, opinions on the M8 with 35/1.4 Nokton? The 35/1.2 CV would be a great choice but I'm thinking about less weight here. My normal work gear is D3's with heavy lenses so I want to go lighter when traveling/vacation, and the M8 is perfect for that.

As it happens I just did a few comparison shots of the Voigtlander 35 1.4 and the Zeiss 35 2. These are 100% crops from the center of the frame.
The Zeiss is first at f/2:

Then the Voigtlander at f/2:

It's a very subtle difference to me but the Voigtlander appears just a bit softer than the Zeiss.

For another perspective I also shot a Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8 on a D700 at the same time. Here's the crop from that at f/2:

Because of the resolution and focal length differences this is a bit of an apples/oranges comparison but the Nikon looks much softer than the other two.

I use an M8 and the speed of the Voigtlander is great in low light. Outdoors in the day I plan to stick with the Zeiss, however.

And as for size the Voigtlander is significantly shorter and makes the M8 a nice, compact package. I find it easier to focus than the Zeiss and the build quality seems about the same (not surprising since Cosina makes both). The lens shades appear to be interchangeable as well. The Voigtlander shade is $5 less than the Zeiss at B&H.

Just did a comparison of the cv35 1.4 and 35 lux ASPH.
The lux just shines way better. CV is just too soft for me.
Hope this helps I will try to post a sample later because I am at work.

If you consider the prices of these two lenses, the Leica SHOULD be better....

Anyway,,
I have Nokton 1.2 version, and it is heavy for RF lens. If you want smaller lens and if you don't need speed, then Skopar is very good for its price...
