Ocassionally I was in Port Credit few days ago. I picked up Port Credit Calendar of Events 2006. June 24-25 scheduled for free Discover Boating. Seems there will be a lot of people there. I hear first time of this Discover Boating. Does anyone have an experience with this event? Maybe we can take a boat? What do you think?

Thanks for the info. That means the harbour area will be very busy (good for photography). I'm sure we could take boat rides, but may have to line up. It changes my opinion about a meeting place though. The Snug Harbour will probably be heavily booked for lunches, so I think The Harp, just a short distance from the harbour, would be a better meeting venue after all. It's a fine pub and I can book a table for us. When we get closer to the event, I'll also send instructions on where to find free parking in Port Credit.ed1k said:Ocassionally I was in Port Credit few days ago. Gene: What are the lighting conditions at The Harp? Should I push Tri-X to merciful levels?

The Harp is a typically long, narrow pub, woody, with a good atmosphere. On the street side it has open windows and the lighting is good (iso400ish), but there's a lot of competition for those seats. At the back there's plenty of seating room, but the lighting is dim. ISO1600, Noctilux territory. The fine selection of draft refreshments, however, offsets the lighting...Trius said:Gene: What are the lighting conditions at The Harp? Should I push Tri-X to merciful levels?![]()
Assuming we'll be outside after some focusing fluid, it could be quite bright, especially near the water. This would be a good place to try out one of your 75/90/135mm lenses, to get some reach into the harbour and the boats there.

The Harp is a nice dark comfy pub, definately 1600 maybe even 3200 territory. A map for free parking in Port Credit will be welcome.

After reading RangefinderForum as a guest for the past month or so, I now feel I can join. A couple of weeks ago bought a very nice M2 with an Elmar 50mm which I’d guess has always been on the camera. Because of a stiff winder, it’s at Kominek being serviced. The CV 25mm I’d ordered arrived on Fri., & there’s a 40mm Summicron on the way. I’ll no doubt be more than a little shutter happy when the camera gets back. I’d very much like to join the Toronto group on June 24th. Have only seen the sign to Port Credit from the 401, so any venue is ok with me. Rain or shine?

Looking forward to spending an afternoon in that quaint little lakeside town....Gene, what's the owner of the Harpe's name again? Met him a few times re store fixture work....
Oh yeah, this Sat is that 1812 battle in Stoney Creek, I'll be at San Remo's Pizza right beside the battlefield at 1:30pm (battle at 3:00pm). Just if anyone wants to make the drive....if we don't meet up, I'm sure we'll recognize each other walking around!

Ok.. I'll be back home as of Saturday June 2
Mom and dad are currently en route and about 2 hours outside of Toronto in an Air Ambulance flight. Her condition, although grave, is certainly better now that she's almost home. If she does pass on, she'll be surrounded by friends and family.
Cheers and thanks for the good thoughts/prayers,
Dave
