Canada Thoughts on the next Toronto RFF Gathering

New member here; I'm in. Guess I'll check in during the week to see if we're on or not. Most alternative dates this summer would work for me as well, though I've been looking forward to this Saturday.

Huh, it's busy time, but then Canada Day etc. I was thinking to get there on Saturday and then spend night in my kitchen/darkroom :) Then I found there will be a gay parade this Sunday; which I've never seen living for almost 4 years in Toronto. I decide I'd better will go this Sunday to downtown (this parade is not on Saturday, is it?. Maybe someone can advise the better place to see the show -- I'm not going to march there, my costume is not ready :)) and spend night sleeping after a meet in a pub :) As well, there is an event on Saturday right there, in Port Credit -- some free boating I wrote about it before. Shortly, I'm in. Probably I even bring my photoalbum I made during a couple of night in my kitchen :)

Gene, BTW a nice photo. For the purpose of identity you might use the wider lens to take also guy'n'gal on the roof of the boutique near by (would be left upper corner) :)

hi guys I don't think I can make it down to the lake on Sat. Just a busy weekend coming up. Base Borden has a big air show and open house on Sat and Sun. Snowbirds and the like. Ground displays and so on. It's only about a 15min drive from my place. Have a good time if I don't get there.

I'm planning on it. Gene: send me an email or PM w/ your cell phone number. In case plans change, I can call you.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Between 1-1:30 at The Harp. I'll get there around 1pm to grab a table at the back of the pub (1600ASA territory).

Two suggestions: there's a boating event in the harbour. You might want to bring your longest lens (90-135mm) and some col film for outdoors. Or a supplementary SLR with 200mm lens or so. I'll probably bring a single RF body and 35, 50 and 90mm lenses. (plus my Stylus Epic in one of my pockets)

Gene.. what a weekend in Toronto. Looks like it has drawn possible attendees from the meet up. As I mentioned there is a Jazz, Dragon Boat, Gay Pride, and two Air events on this weekend. Tough competition when there are so many possible photo ops at these events. And the summer is just starting. We should try and coordinate a meeting when there is a gap in weekend events; if there is one.

sitting here from a distance and knowing that my own city has tons of summer and festival events...i would not pass on the opportunity to vist with fellow shooters.
it is a wonderful opportunity to connect in person and not just on the net.

there are always photo ops to be had but making a connection with folks that get the rff thing is way more of a treasure.

just my opinion...
