Gene: Those interior shots are incredibly sharp considering your shutter speed; great work!
I guess rated at 800 🙂 One stop is not really a problem, just one or two grades more contrast paper needed. Other way - it's easier to scan because scanner likes thin negatives rather than thick. I clearly remember it was 1 second exposure for 100 ISO @f/2.5. So, for 400ISO @f/2 it should be 1/8. Anyway, I'm impressed by results. Rodinal worked really well and it looks like there was a bright illumination there 🙂 At least bright enough for Leica & Hexanon. All 1/15 @ f/2, Leica M2, M-Hexanon 50/2, Neopan 400 (rated at 400), Rodinal 1:50
Yeah! We missed you. That was regular guinness or so liked by me local old credit ale 🙂Mmm...dark beveridge with foam on top...and I wasn't there.
Well, I had an SLR on me and I couldn't 🙂 Really nice shots, thanks Gene. Seems you're storng enough, if that's your limit that's very high limit! Not everyone able to hand hold at 1/15 and get such a sharp pics.Couldn't have done it with an SLR...
Guy, I took the liberty of downloading one of your pics and playing with it a bit in PS. Sometimes an image that looks rather muddy and lifeless from a scan works up quite well in PS. I think you're on track with your development. You may want to get a bit more contrast at scanning time but the image handled quite well in PS. Here's an interpretation ...grainhound said:Got some rolls developed at last, including a few shots from Port Credit. Gene, I saw your cautionary post about HP5 in Rodinal a little too late. Is that what went wrong with these? Not sure: the grain doesn't bother me as much as the muddy contrast. Haven't developed film for a few years, & am catching up on it. Just scanned these 2 'straight' & posted them. (Minolta Dimage Dual Scan... it's old as computer stuff goes.) The brightness/contrast control in PS makes them look normal on the screen.
Hi Nancy! Nice to see you here on RFF!somecanuckchick said:That looks a wee bit like me...
