thoughts on using 2 x-e1's instead of x-e1 & xp1?

i know it's crazy talk!
but i have no need for a 50mm pov when i have a 40mm pov...
just because it's fast and oh so sharp doesn't make it needed.
but the 1.4 might be handy in the dead of winter around here when it seems there is only a few hours of daylight.

I can't tell you how many years I walked around with nothing but a 50 and 35 for my Nikon S2...and I mostly just used the 50 then :)

X-E1 vs. X-Pro2

X-E1 vs. X-Pro2

Ok, I bought an X-Pro1 and loved it then added X-E1.

Fell out of love with the X-Pro1 for two reasons and sold it.
- twice found I lost my -1 diopter corrected eye piece. It would just unscrew it self over some use and disappear. Unacceptable.
- couldn't focus with the OVF or tell what I focused on. Great I could frame and low light and then had to immediately check the LCD to see if I got the shot I wanted. Maybe I didn't understand how to use it effectively but with no focus feedback in the OVF I found it pretty limited.

So I'm hoping for some kind of rangefinder equivalent in a future version or a better EVF with less lag.

You have a point. There were only two options for OVF focus-lock confirmation: the audio beep or using the 3X, 10X zoom. The former is unappealing to some people and the latter takes a second or so. As of last week focus peaking makes OVF confirmation in manual focus mode via 3X zoom quicker.

An analog rangefinder would be a wonderful surprise. I think an improved EVF is much more likely.
