Thoughts on waiting for the mailman

Lol , No Noel , Though I'm waiting for Jon Grepstad,s book "building a large format camera" I wonder if it will scale up ? 😀 😀 😀

My thought was that if the roller blind was suitable as in light tight and not to thick , It could be cut up for shutter curtains , As I said probably a stupid idea but it could be worth looking into .

I'd be nervous about the acrylic being similar to the rubber, i.e. as durable, I've never had one of mine pinhole but bought lots with, but I gotta replace a lotta shutters, and I dont like the e-bay ones.

I gotta look at the first Ikea shop, then all I'd need is ribbon and metal bits.

Could not resist teasing sorry...

Okay, this is very, very, very important!!!! Make sure that you mark where the ribbons and curtains are attached!!!:bang: I think that my problem comes from using old shutter curtains rather than brand new ones. I have had to remove and reinstall the curtains numerous times. Good thing is I had the camera(Z3 for those who have forgot from the beginning of the thread) pretty much back together and everything functioned right except that the curtains stayed together through the whole range of shutter speeds. I believe that the first curtain ribbons are stretched from their previous application(Z4K) so I have to keep re-adjusting them. Eventually, I will find the sweet spot... Wish me luck😀

Still waiting on a the '56 Kiev 2 and the Zorki 6. I did though, get the Z3 back together. It seems to be working just fine. The slow speeds don't work, but that has always been the case with this camera. I have a roll of film in it right now and should have it shot and developed by the end of the week. I did get the slow speeds working on my Z3M. They just needed a spot of oil and some tweaking. Finished the roll of film that was in the Z3M and it will get developed today or tomorrow. Then I will know where I am at in regards to light leaks or shutter problems with that camera. Eventually, I will probably send the Z3 off to Oleg for a 'real' CLA and see if he can fix the slow speeds. Well, back to pacing by the mailbox:bang:

Well, the mailman finally dropped off the last of the packages. I am now the proud owner of a Kiev 2 to match my Kiev 3A. Wrapped in the same package was a Zorki 6 as well. The Kiev will need some work, but being that it is 51 years old and was very cheap, I have no problem with that. The Zorki 6 will get a CLA as well. The film advance is not anywhere near as loud as I thought it would be. I can't wait to get the J12 out in front of this sucker. To top it off today I also received the 'new to me' MD4 motor drive for my Nikon F3😀
