I am considering the purchase of a CV Bessa R2M body and four lens. All but one of the lens has the Leica Thread Mount. Do I need to purchase an adapter for each lens or just one for the R2M body. I have an FSU body (Zorki) with the thread mount and hope to use the thread mount lens on that body also. Will that work OK? Any and all information is appreciated.

I am not familiar with the CV Bessa. If the Bessa is an M mount camera, you may use one adapter and put mulitple lenses on it. Be aware that the adapters are keyed to bring up the different framelines on the M bodies. The adapters bring up the 28/90, 35/135 or 50/75 framelines depending on the adapter. Using one adapter could mean that the framelines are not correct for that lens.

Tom,

It will work. If that is what you can afford at first, do it. It will be a bit slow, but it's a great way to start. Bessas have the wonderful advantage of having a manual frame line switch allowing you not to worry about which LTM/M adapter you have. ZI and Leicas have an automatic frame line selection system based upon three different positions.

I think you will like it more with an LTM on each lens, but take your time and get good ones when you can afford it. Buy film and go enjoy the camera!

I just sold off my last M mount Bessa and now have two and L and an R. The R is for my sons to learn on, the L is my carry camera for another week or so. I'm hard pressed to pass her along she is such a fun camera.

As B2 says, all LTM lenses will fit with a single adapter; and on a Bessa the frame lines have to be set manually. I'm worse off: as I'm buying an M2, I shall need three M adapters.
