Details of the Thumbie can be found here (its just a page to put the instructions on not a 'blog')
http://stevesblogofeverything.blogspot.com/
The tape is designed to hold trim onto cars, so it is long lasting, holds up to heat and cold, and doesn't damage paintwork. The contact patch is such that if the Thumbie is fitted properly it won't fall off, the pressure is evenly distributed in more than one direction. But it can be easily removed, the old tape just rolls up under thumb pressure.
As its not a full time job they are available on ebay on a regular basis, but not in vast quantities. Or you could try contacting the errrm head man direct via the email on the instructions site.

It is brassing nicely through useThanks for information on the Thumbie. I assume this is the one that is attached with double sided tape. How long have you had this attached, and does it seem to stick?

Means it has/had a good life. It's kind of like skate-boarding. Want to be a good skateboarder? Be prepared to break a few bones in your body.
Some people like their skateboard behind a glass, and the more collectible it is, the better. I wonder if there are certain brands that run black-and-chrome editions in small numbers?

I've had mine on for several months. Feels solid - no give whatsoever.
For folks asking about info I bought mine off of eBay - if there isn't an active listing right now I suspect you can just contact the seller for more info.

I've contacted Steve Barnett and paid for mine via Paypal. 23 GBP shipped seems like a good deal.

Have had the Thingee on for about a month, no problems. While I like the thumbs up, I can now use my flash. And it actually fits with my Luigi case.

Received mine yesterday, and it's great. Only drawback is that my zhou half case no long fits (it has cut-out for Thumbs-Up). I guess I'll start going commando! I actually like it better.

Here's my Thumbie. I posted on the leica forum when i got it yesterday.
The zhou case still fits. The corner is just lifted slightly over the backside of the thumbie.
I dont have a pic of that, but its in the case right now and works fine.
Although it does feel best naked like you said.

Yeah, technically you can still use the half case, but the corner does lift up. I like it without it now. I guess the half case is going up for sale now.

Unpacked mine recently, put it on my M8 picked it up and said oh yeah.
This fits like a glove and feels rock-solid.

Another "Thumbs Up" for Steve's "Thumbie". It's been attached to the camera a full week now and show's no signs of budging
Seriously, though it's a fine product at a far more sensible price.
