Have any of you seen this video of Pedro Ferreira shooting with a Thumbs Up and a wireless trigger? When I check Match Technical is says there are none with hot shoes?

I used to use the Thumbsup but replaced it w the Thumbie. Allows unhindered use of the hotshoe, and much cheaper.

I watched the clip a few times, zoomed in on the Thumbs Up and on the radio transmitter, and it doesn't add up. I don't understand it, did he alter a thumbie to have contacts in it? Because the transmitter is sitting on top of the cold shoe???
