Big day for me today, got to meet one of my all time favourite photographers, Tim Page at the requiem exhibition in Melbourne today, even got my copy of requiem signed!

Dear Andrew,

Isn't he a lovely guy? And a bloody good photographer: I'm always surprised he's not better known. He's also the only person I know who's been declared "Dead on Arrival" twice (motorcycle accident and "friendly" fire).

Well worth reading his autobiography "Page after Page". I'm envious that you have met him, I'd try to do the same if he ever does a book signing in the UK.

It's actually the 2nd time I'd met him, still very chuffed!

Page is prominent in the book "Dispatches" by Michael Herr.

Echo that. Made a lifelong impression on me from Herr's portrait of him.
