time for a bag thread!!

the bbb bag just doesn't look very substantial to me.

joe, if "substantial" means built to last, then i can assure you it's built like a small version of a bike courier bag. if you're thinking of inner padding, then i'd agree it's a minimally padded bag but i like that approach. it molds nicely to the hip area and carries well across the body - nice long adjustable strap. nothing remotely box-y about it.

enough already ... i'm happy with mine.

I've bought one of those a&a clones. I liked it very much but, in my case, it wasn't too solid, one zipper broken and some parts are not well sewn... nothing that I cannot repair myself...

Im happy with the Billingham Hadley beater I bought on RFF a month or two ago. Seller took some good snaps but didnt tell me it stunk. Had to run it thru the washer 4 times and sun dry it at 110 degrees (F) to get the stink out and back to beater status.

the material looks thin and i wonder about the gear banging against each other with just that thin fabric to isolate one piece from another.

i'm not knocking the bag, it's just a pita to have to keep buying bags to try them out and that one didn't look promising to me.

Yeah, the bbb is not for carrying lots of gear. But it's perfect for a single rangefinder and minimal gear as listed in my earlier post. And I really like how it stays close to the body while being worn. That alone means it needs less padding since it doesn't swing out and and bang into things like more substantial bags tend to.

And sure, Joe, I'll keep you in mind if the a&a copy doesn't suit me for my dslr kit.

Joe: the Stealth (standard size, not the bigger one). This might be the right "second bag" (to my Domke F803) that I've been looking for. (Time to face facts, we're as bad as women when it comes to this stuff.) 😀

isn't that $95?

not really the same as women...we need a bag for a specific function and style plays a very small part in the decision.

'deed, it is...but I like it so much it doesn't matter. (Hell, I paid $140 for my Domke, and put it through hell; still does the deed.)

Ah, they'll tell you the same thing; trust me on this. 😉

why does the guy in the bbb video never open the bag and show the inside??
I think he learned this from the Wizard of Oz. Or Steve Jobs, I forget which...
