Hi, everyone,
I have a G1 and a TLA140. How do I use the M option on the TLA140 with G1 (is it the option for me to control the output of the flash? How? The manual only states the TTL option on the TLA140. Besides, can I use the TLA140 with other camera, such as Bessa R?
Thanks....
P.S. What is the GN of TLA140?
Thanks.

You can use the TLA 140 in its M mode on either the G1 or on other cameras. In this mode it just puts out a fixed amount of light, so you have to determine your exposure via the Guide Number method (divide distance into the guide number to get the f/stop you should use.) Guide number at ISO 100 is 14 in meters, 46 in feet.
Even if you have the option of TTL auto, the manual mode is sometimes useful when photographing under conditions that might confuse a TTL system, such as a very light subject against a very dark background or vice-versa.
