To Canadians, is your film okay when you buy it mail order from the US?

Or other countries for that matter?

Any concerns with the delivery services scanning the film and fogging it?

regards
Vick

B&H shipped to almost the other side of the world. Nothing ever faster than ISO 400, but no problems with either negative or slide films.

Is it OK? nope, it's better! The prices in Calgary are pretty absurd, so i only buy from the US sadly. I've had film shipped from B&H, and now with the Purolator shipping option you prepay all tax and duty. No surprises and nothing to pay at delivery. I've also bought from Freestyle and had Neopan 1600 shipped from Maco in Germany with no problems. The only thing I would hesitate with is buying in the summer as I don't know how hot the trucks get and don't want precook end film. Not that I've had any issues with that, but I would just be more comfortable buying in the cold months.

I haven't shot any film in a while but when I did I always ordered from the states (mostly B&H). Never a problem. Saved a bucket of cash doing so.

Note that B&H added a new shipping option for Canadians recently. It is through Purolator and is all paid for in advance so you don't have to pay anything at the door.

It's quite amazing. They'll ship a decent sized order to me (in Ottawa) for about $10 (IIRC) plus the taxes and about $5 for brokerage (or something) and I'll get it within three days.

I order film from B&H and it arrives quickly down here in OZ and always in good condition. The packaging is so good I reuse it to send things to my grandchildren.
