Oh, dear! Haven't you and I locked horns over this before? I have no desire to go there again, but suffice it to say that there are very few Americans, regardless of their political persuasions, for whom yesterday's election isn't absolutely front and center. It's a bit unrealistic to think that concern won't find its way into our postings, just a teensy bit...

And we could also talk about fishing. But this board is about cameras and photography and sneaking in politics under the guise of such is obvious. I think the board is better than politics. It seems you do not.

Exercise some discretion and maturity. Show some respect for others. And understand that You Tube is a good place for this as is Facebook. RFF is neither.

[To the moderator, sorry for the political post, but these times, as represented by yesterday's election, are disturbing enough to distract my interest in photography] Mike Johnston's post today at his website The Online Photographer pretty much sums up my feelings about the election. And Kamala's concession speech earlier today is the perfect salve.

I always took photojournalism to be about the state of society. This is the work that is talked about here every day. The comfortable parts, the uncomfortable parts...

Perhaps if your party should consider introspection and stop scolding a broad coalition of citizens for their preferences, the outcomes might actually align with yours . of course, I am respectful of your opinion. All of us need to move on. throw the crying towel in the washing machine.

RFF is a photographer's community and just like any community which experiences a deep divide, those cracks can start appear in here too. I think there is a sense of disappointment for a large portion of RFF'ers which I hope gets acknowledged by others. I left a fb group yesterday - the divide was so deep that it was clearly impossible to bridge and acknowledge other people's feelings and thoughts.

Profound knowledge, self discipline, courage, pride, enlightenment, inner peace, maturity, moral fortitude, kindness, honesty, understanding and decency were considered to be the qualities that made a person a good person.

I, like Dogman, miss the USA. And, that’s just the tip of the iceberg of the things I miss.
