I reached into my bag today, solemnly removing the digilux 2... Hesitation hit... I have more cameras than I need, the digilux has been everywhere with me. I gave it to my 10 year old daughter. I told her the camera was special. I felt a pang of regret and panic as I handed it to her. I hope she uses it well. I hope one day she tells the story of her first leica. I hope this wasn't a wasted gesture. I hope the photo bug stays with her.

She's handled the camera before, she takes good photos.

Well, on with the day.

I almost had a similar experience. My SLR kit has two Nikon F6s in it. Realizing that I don't really use them any more, I tried to give one to my wife to replace her F100, so it could go onto a good home. It took a while to finally decide she could have one. She rejected it. She wanted the F100 because I bought it for her. I ended up buying another F100 to give to the good home.

i'm going to tell her, "when you think you have a good shot, step two steps closer and then take the shot"

she has a good eye and is always doing creative/artsy stuff
