too good to pass up!

I think the finder is worth more than the lens, since that lens is uncoupled. Isn't there a simlar (same?) setup in the classifieds here?

ahh, ok

ahh, ok

that is a great deal, somehow I thought the finders came with the lenses. Go for it, just sell off the parts you don't need.

Hi Joe

Hi Joe

I did some digging, and it appears the 25/4 did include a VF in the list $245 price, while the 28 and maybe some other CV's didn't. Maybe check with Stephen Gandy. It's still a good deal, but not sure you could quickly sell the "L" and 25/4 off, and still get the VF for free...

yeah, probably. Given that it is a new VC finder, I imagine that it will be brighter than my old Canon 25 finder. Looking forward to the lens- I came very close to buying one new a few times. The Canon 25 is an OK lens, but vignettes quite a lot in the corners. The fact that the VC is not rangefinder coupled doesn't bother me, because the huge DOF makes focusing more or less irrelevant.

Finders are sort of a notoriously bad deal, but when you need one, you need one so they take it out of your hide. $128 for the CV 25 finder is painful - I lost one once and paying $130 for a replacement felt just like getting robbed.

The fact that they include one with a pretty nice lens in the 25/4 Snapshot for just $225 or so is something of an indication of its true value.
