Well there is yet to be a 'birthday's forum' and a 'useful polls' forum, oh and a 'newbie hangout'... so right now there aren't too many. :D

More, I need MORE

More, I need MORE

keep um coming :D

I need more, must read more, must post more, must engage more, must write more :D :D :D :D

Some people want to have a forum just for their own topic, some wan't to look a bit further than their own fence.

When I log in I look what's on the main page and then check the Contax forum.

I just click on "New Posts" and see all that happened since last login. Particular forums are not such a big deal this way.

I seldom search by forums unless I need something product-specific. Of course, with the new choices that may become more of a challenge. In any case, I often do what Joe suggests and just browse all new posts.

I'm sure this will all be sorted out in time...

The main problem I see is that some of the new forums are doubling up on what is already there. eg Yashica forum is mainly fixed lens rangefinders, but now there is a forum for fixed lens rangefinders. Does this mean that all fixed lens rangefinder cameras should be lumped together here and the yashica forum will just be for non fixed lens Yashica's eg Nicca's etc.??

No the niccas go in the new Leica screw copy forum, unless they are using a non-coupled lens, in which case they go in the scale focus catagory.. so long as you don't have a stereo adaptor on the front.. oh and it also depends on what brand of lens.

I'll tell you, there are many forums that I would never visit, but there are some I would love to see.

Some neat responses... :) I think RFF is a forum and category sub-forums within that are not very meaningful. Like Varjag and BackAlley I view RFF in such a way I'm not aware of what sub-forum a post belongs to... I'd like to see another response choice in the above poll for "Doesn't matter!" :)

i think the easiest way to look at the forum is to hit new posts and go from there.

That's how I currently do it. It would be nice to be able to sort by forums or to get new posts in
specific forums. That way I would be able to check for new posts in LF RF and FSU and not be bothered by M8 and Leica M stuff.

Too Many Forums Now?

Too Many Forums Now?

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln's famous quotation about fooling the people,

You can [please] some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not [please] all of the people all of the time.

"please" and "fool" interchangeable, eh?

How can there be too many when we don't have a Voigtlander Vitessa forum?

Ah, the exquisite Vitessa . . .

Doesn't she model for for Victoria's Secret?

:D /ScottGee1

p.s. Just kidding of course. I have a Vitessa folder; it is exquisite.

Though the VF could be a bit larger . . . it's always something.
