Well-known
Well, I pulled the trigger and just ordered an X-Pro 2 from B&H. I guess I rationalized my purchase with this: I wanted an awesome camera for street photography, and had no stomach for blowing $5K and up for a Leica (even though I have alot of M mount lenses). I already have the Fuji 35 f1.4 and 18-55 zoom from my X-Pro 1. I do have an A7r, but for the most part, I use it mostly as a body for my F1.0 Noctilux, and for portraits as well as landscape and architecture. Coming from a Leica M4-2, M6, M8, and X-Pro 1, the Sony never felt right in the street and to be honest, the EVF tires my eyes, I don't like staring at something (an electronic image) for the street, but through the viewfinder with a direct clear view. At some point I might have a used A7 or A7r converted for my M lenses by removing the thicker glass on the sensor, but frankly, the M lenses I have are for special purposes (specific artistic rendering) and for the hardcore street shooting, I felt I could not resist the X Pro-2 for the price. I did consider the A7r2, but I felt at 36mp, the A7r was not that much different from the A7r2, and in the end, the Fuji would satisfy my rangefinder tastes with a modern twist.
