  • I used constant agitation with Rodinal 1:25 for 30 minutes and my Tri-X looks like crap. What went wrong?
  • What developer is like Rodinal for tonality and acutance but gives fine grain and is just as cheap and lasts as long. And is available at the local drugstore?
  • [bill forgot this one] When will Olympus manufacture a full frame digital SLR with OM mount compatibility so I can use my OM System Zuiko lenses?
  • Why did I get ripped off when I used Western Union to pay for a mint M9 from a seller in Nigeria?

Real Question. I did it.......

Real Question. I did it.......

As most of you know, Bigfoot & Bubba are black chrome. My earliest M-mount lenses for the Boys were 1960s vintage chrome Leitz lenses, 50mm & 90mm. From a previous lifetime, I had chrome LTM lenses in 35mm, 50mm & 75mm. The only black lens in my inventory was a pristine Canon LTM 135/3.5.

Later I added black Konica lenses in 28mm & 35mm. I could finally outfit
Bigfoot & Bubba in all black. Unfortunately, using 28mm & 35mm lenses simultaneously proved a bit limiting. The 135mm didn't fit very well with 28mm or 35mm either.

Then along came a nice LTM 8.5cm/2.0 Nikkor-P.C. Chrome again. Bigfoot & Bubba were none too pleased.

At last, a fourth black lens wandered into my bag. A 90mm/2.8 Elmarit-M. The Boys were glad. At least one of them could be clad in matching black. 35mm-90mm wouldn't be too hard to make work either.

Today I can put together the following:

Black, Black, Black & Black
Black, Black, Black & Chrome
Black, Chrome, Black & Chrome

I still have one obvious problem: What color strap goes with each combination? If I'm out shooting and I change lenses, say from Black & Black to Black & Chrome, should I also change straps? OpTech makes quick release straps that are easy to change.

I told Y'all I was drinking Corsendonk Abbey Brown Ale.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Fictitious based on truth:

"Does anyone know how to contact RFF member (_______________)? I bought (------) from RFF seller (_____________). I sent the money yesterday. The (-------) didn't arrive today. (_______________) hasn't answered my emails sent in the last hour. Should I call the police?"

"I've been using Tri-X and D-76 since forever. I love the combination. Will Neopan 400 and Diafine give me the same results?"

"I developed a roll of Tri-X in D-76. The negatives look like crap. What went wrong?" After quizzing by the membership, "I don't remember the temperature or time. I turned the tank over some. Why don't my scans look good?"

"I'm looking for a good film scanner. My budget is 100 whatevers. What should I buy?"

Which 50 is better than the 'lux asph, and why, and please don't tell me about Zeiss or Voigtlander because I only trust Leica quality and build and image quality and could not bear to put a non-Leica lens on my beautiful a la carte MP.

Maybe a lot of questions are slightly rhetorical without the op intending them to be that way.

More a means of opening a line of discussion so they can participate and experience the 'love' here on our warm fuzzy forum!

Nobody mentioned:

Is it polite/ethical/legal to photograph adults/children/police surreptitiously in the street/public-toilet/department-store-dressing-room?

I have some wonderful photos that I took with my M8 and a Noctilux. I'd like to get them printed to 4x6, but my Costco charges $.79 a print (!!). I won't pay more than $.69/print. Any suggestions on where to get cheap high-quality prints?
