I have a modern Rodenstock lens in a Copal 0 that has weird focus problems and needs some TLC, maybe alignment or recentering. Who is capable of servicing these well? Is Grimes still good?

Try John Van Stelten at Focal Point in Colorado. I don't know if he does large format work but he has done lens repair for me on Alpa and Nikkor RF lens's. Good Luck, Joe.

Paul Ebel is a large format shutter guy, among other things. If he can't handle centering and such he might know a good person.

Unfortunately Steve Grimes deceased but there are some people still there committed to high end machining.
although I have not used the following, there is a shop in LA which specializes in LF lenses and shutter repair.

They completely rebuilt and recoated my old early 21mm f/3.4 Super Angulon and did an amazing job at it. Lens was brand new with modern coating when it came back.

I went through a similar problem last year with a Fujinon 180 in a copal shutter. I checked Grimes and several others and none have optical benches. I'd had Schneider / Century Optical in California put together two different 121 Super Angulons that had been damaged to make one perfect one. I contacted Schneider / Century and the first refused but once they heard it is in a Copal shutter they said they'd put it on the optical bench and do any shimming necessary. They did the repair because they're the copal distributor and justified it on the basis the shutter was out of spec. The repair cost $90 and it's perfect now.
I'd suggest sending it to Rodenstock. They will have all the necessary specs and equipment. Thy may have to send it to Germany but it will be done back to factory spec. I would do this before approaching Schneider.
My situation was corrected by shimming the cells in the shutter. If yours is a element alignment issue and not shutter related Schneider won't touch it.
The tech at Schneider said he wasn't aware of any other companies with optical benches in the US doing this kind of work.
