Canada Toronto Area RFF Meeting: November

Got the secret handshake, no don't need that most people will have a Lieca and other toys with them.

Bill

Au contraire mon frere!!
"most people will have LeicaS with them :D"

Cheers,
Dave

Dave: Oh will you PLEASE STOP with the multiple Leica-owner thing? Now I'm really regretting selling my M3 and lenses through Stan C. Reade, London, ON, way back in the late 80s. I'm gonna tell Gene to take his M2 and suck your soul right outta you! Oh wait, you've sold your soul to Solms!

i think you guys should only bring small fixed lens rf cams to this meeting, one each.

whadyathink?

;)joe

I sold my Olympus XA a few months back Joe :D

All I have are these Leicas... damn them ;)

Dave

I sold my Leica a couple of years ago, gave the money to my daughter for a wedding dress and she gave my a nice healthy grandson.

I do have a Hermies tie, inherited from my father-in-law. Does that count as a Leica accessory??

Regards to all,

Bill K.

Did we decide on a time? I thought we were going for "early afternoon" or was it "late morning".. hmmm :)

Dave

Hi all , looks like I'm outta the country on that weekend. Sorry about that. Probably saves everyone from being seen with a non drinker. If plans change I will show

cheers, Jan

I'm pretty sure we said Nov 12th, 1pm at Balzac's -- the coffee house -- for a meeting place and a cuppa. Then a photo shoot in the district, working our way towards the Esplanade for a round of beverages.

Jan, I'm sorry we won't be meeting you on the 12th.

Please pass along an invite to any budding (or otherwise) RF shooters you know in the area, such as Toronto members of APUG or pnet classic cameras.

Here's a map to Balzac's: http://canada411.yellowpages.ca/sea...d=0&pst=simpleSearch&srchtype=business&city=t

I have 1PM on the 12th, Balzac's on my calendar. As a Stratford boy, I think Balzac's is quite appropriate for me! :D

I just saw this thread. I may be able to make it -- if so, probably later in the afternoon. I'll bring either my XA or Koni Omega or Moskva or something like that.

This sounds like fun. I'm hoping I can make. I'll bring my Zorki 4K ... and possibly the Minox GT.

Peter

Jordan, Peter, we'll be looking forward to meeting you on the 12th!

To all: I don't have a cell phone. Would anyone from the Toronto gathering who owns one be able to volunteer their cell phone number to call if someone comes along and can't locate us?

Gene

Oh, my gosh! I just realized that we are rangefinder evangelists! Most people cringe when they see see us coming and pretend that no one is home. :)

Have you been a longtime RF user?
Off and on over the last 35 to 40 years.
I got a Yashica (I think it was the J) in 1967 when I was a kid and used that for years. It met its demise in the mid-70s in an unfortunate accident involving me standing too close to the ocean while taking pictures of large waves.
After that it was various SLRs and a Zorki 4 I picked up in the early 80s. The Zorki ended up being sold when I was offered considerably more than I'd paid for it and I really wanted an autofocus Nikon.
Digital got me back into photography in the mid-90s and a film scanner got me back into film.
I'd always enjoyed the Zorki so I bought a 4K with a Jupiter 8 (same lens I'd had on my Zorki 4) from Siberia via the big aution site.
I many ways my photography has been going backwards equipmentwise. I've been getting simpler cameras (mechanical) and collecting old single-coated Nikkors to use on my SLRs.
