i had set it and tested it previously so i know it was ok so i am assuming the trip was a bit rough.

Athough not a rangefinder, I just had my OM2 serviced at Sun Camera and was satisfied with their service. I am sure they would be able to handle a rf alignment. They are at 2150 Steeles Ave W (905) 669-6355
Bump...
I remember the TO crowd talking about a local guy too.

Are you referring to David Yau at Harry's Pro Shop? http://harrysproshop.com/Yau/yau.html

I had David Yau adjust the focusing on my Epson in Toronto, and was very pleased with his work. He also fixed the wobble on my CV 35 2.5. He did encourage me to get a Leica though
(And truthfully the M9 is quicker and surer to focus.)

I'm the guy with the R-D1 in question and I just spoke with David. A very nice guy, said he wasn't sure because he didn't have replacement parts, but that he had done one before ( ^ ) and that he would give it a shot.
Sevres, would you mind PMing me the cost of the adjustment?

No parts should be necessary to adjust the RF alignment.

It really is easy to do yourself. See the attached link - it is not as complicated as it seems.

Yes, I know, but I think David was concerned that if something fell out, broke, etc, he would have a hard time fixing it.
