Canada Toronto RFF - Holiday Season Meet-up?

And WHY would we want to do that???

I'll be busy trying to "entertain" guests - emphasis on the "trying"..

It's all part of the entertainment... else you're skating @ NP Square... wearing nada... except that Santa hat and a smile.

Any date preferences other than too close to the 25th or the 31st? Looks like we want to discourage naked elves, Boston Terrier puppies in Santa hats howling Elvis tunes, & I'd add holiday muzak. See if we can work this up to a partridge & a pear tree.

I'd be interested, but of course, will depend on day. It will be my first time.
I haven't said THAT in a long, long time!

the 30th?

That's a Saturday - unless folks are planning on "hooping it up" early? :D

Dave

Whoopin' on the 30th, sounds alright. I don't know where to go for the best combination of focussing fluids, winter photo ops, & reasonable parking. 10:30-11:00 start time?

Any ideas for a place to meet Dave? I'm interested for the usual reasons: gear talk, focussing fluids, a walk to get a few shots, etc.. I've also got an ulterior motive, to see your Domke bag, since I can't find anyone who has them on a shelf - can't buy one unseen. The 30th is good for me, but other dates are as well.

The 30th looks fine for me, Dave. I'm easy about meetup location as long as it's readily accessible and serves pints. I GO Train into Union and use TTC. Anything downtown (including Distillery District) is walkable for me.

Cheers,

Gene

there is a series of eating/bars along Front St West. Lone Star, Joe Badali's , up University Ave on Adelaide there is Fion McCools

Thats easy for the crowd coming in on GO or the subway. We just have to pick one. If we all want to go to the distillery district .... again.. then there are a lot of choices also.

I'll try and make it.

Seasons best to everyone

Your digital friend (i.e. me) is interested in joining you. Even at the Distillery (but it's east of Yonge...). Another possibility is the Duke of Argyle, on John Street, visible from, and just above, King, on the west side of the street. Friendly enough place, and bright enough too. Basic pub food, and also seafood chowder (authentic? how would I know; I was born in Hamilton, live in Toronto, and never go east of Yonge.)

A pub sounds good to me, don't know that one. How's the parking & noise level there? I'll probably take TTC anyway, though some may need to drive.

Ok..

How about Armadillo or Jack Astor's on Front St near University. This may be the easiest for everyone.
