I kinda found this site by accident, and was laughing pretty hard once the homepage loaded up.. maybe it's just me, though

www.schwing.com

you gotta have the sound turned on your computer to get the effect

I've seen that before! I don't remember where I found the link... but I checked it out about 6 months back.. very funny

hehe.. Wayne's World.. Wayne's World... party time.. excellent !! ;)

I love it when "legit" companies have hilarious names and don't mind poking fun at it. There's a trucking company here in Ontario (if not nationally) that's called "Fluke Transport".. their motto on the back of their trucks??? "If it's on time, it's got to be a Fluke!"
:D

What's funny about Schwing? (as in Folmer & Schwing, original name of Graflex.)

You think Schwing is a funny name? In the concrete-pumping business, one of their biggest competitors is Putzmeister (seriously...)

Actually, it's not so funny -- I think their name translates roughly from German as "placement master," and that's what their products do: place concrete. (Their site sounds a bit funny, too, though...)

OK, Brett, confess... "found by accident" just won't wash, Idon't buy it. Truth time!

OMG. The main competition to Schwing is Putzmeister? That is too funny.

(For those who don't know, according to Wayne's World, "schwing" is a sound closely associated with sexual arousal, as in hard, like concrete.)

Here in OZ there is a Radio Shack chain store equivalent called "Dick Smith", named after the founder...their trucks <well at least used to...haven't seen one for awhile> have on the sides, "Dick Smith...the electronic Dick!" :D

I do a lot of random domain name searches these days, since I'm trying to find a decent unclaimed domain name for a 'youth oriented' website.. I swear, there is going to be a huge problem in the near future for new businesses because every conceivable domain name is already taken

Hernea Moving in Milwaukee? I didn't know that one.. we ought to go find their headquarters and take some photos

There is, or used to be a truck stop in Colorado named "Gay Johnsons"

Yes, I know what it means. :)

that reminds me of a grocery store chain in southwestern Wisconsin called "Dicks".. apparently they used to have one of those members programs where you'd sign up and get a card for in-store discounts.. printed on the card in very prominent letters was "Dicks Insider"

I believe Dicks is now owned by Piggly Wiggly and the cards are no longer accepted

in Wisconsin, there are many small public parks that are named after Richard Bong, the foremost air ace during WW1.. so it's not uncommon to be driving along and see a sign saying "Bong Recreation Area"
