i'm thinking about trading my 2 xe1 bodies towards a new xe2 body...i now have 4 bodies and 4 lenses but i could easily do with 3 bodies and 4 lenses...and they would all fit into one camera bag...the cost wouldn't be too dreadful...livable...
the move would be more cerebral than practical as i have not taken a pic in months...no desire to shoot...but i have been looking at lots of other's images...

I think this is a good plan, The XE-2 just got even better after a recent firmware update. This is a major update (link to Fujifilm update manual).
You may be aware the some people find skin-tone rendering from X-Trans II in-camera JPEGs is over processed (the ambiguous term waxy is often used). I have no opinion as I never took an in-camera JPEG with XTrans II cameras.

Joe - if I can find a piece of string, photograph it and stick the result into the Gallery, I'm sure you could better my result! Are you up for that challenge? How close can you get with one of your lenses? Get out one of the bodies and see what else is in your kitchen. Look in your glass and see if you can see a spectrum or shadow effect and try to capture that.
Surprise yourself, go look, and take a photo, and no need to go out into the cold!

The used price of xe1's are most likely pretty close to bottom right now..given how old they are....depending on condition, not sure how much u will get for it in a trade.
I'm not sure if the price would change that much for u if u wait a while. Why make a trade like that when u aren't really into photography right now.. By the time u get back on the horse, your interest in photography could change enough that the trade was a moot point. U could be a wildlife photo enthusiasts for example

I thought you've been kind of quiet the last while! Winter blues: this too shall pass.

Joe, coming from X-E1, are you happy with the skin tone and highlight handling of X-E2?

my attention to detail is almost non existent...
What are the 3 bodies after you sell the two X-E1 cameras?

selling/trading only one xe1 body...getting another xe2
in total i will have xm1/xe1 and two xe2 bodies...4 in total.
Got ya... you're going for it huh Joe? They are so cheap these days that it's hard not to...

even without a trade it's not really expensive...i'm guessing the xe1 would be backup or substitute on miserable days...the xm1 is there for when my knees get in the way and i want something higher or lower than my old bones allow...
so really 2 main bodies that are the same which has been my m.o. forever...
i may like to move things around a bit but fuji is my brand of choice...love the lenses...so i'm gonna keep it all in the family and stick with fuji.

good news bad news!
i bought a new xe2...they only had silver left, no black, and i really prefer black...but i bought it anyway...not sure what i'll do with the 2 xe1 bodies yet.
problem...i upgraded to version 4 and the camera has gone hinky...took forever to get the back screen to show an image...flash not working properly and the 'photometry' on the menu is all bright yellow and cannot be changed...did a reset and tried it all again but still not working well...did another reset and copied all the settings from the other xe2 ver. 4 but disappointment continues...
