i packed the new xe2 up and brought it back to the dealer…a new salesperson (not the one who sold me the camera or the one who tried to help me yesterday) took the body in hand, made a quick move and the body was fixed!
what did he do? he hit reset…something i had done at least 6 times…but for him it worked!!
there are 2 parts to reset and i must have done the worng part.
anyway, it works and i now have 2 working xe2 bodies and 2 xe1 bodies that will be tucked away as back up...

Good.. 
Wasn't aware there is a two part reset...?? I only know about the one in the menu for setting everything in config back to factory..

reset for 'set up' and reset for 'shooting'…
it was frustrating…i even went to the fuji site and found a manual for the xe2 plus ver 4 upgrade...
