Transporting IXMOOs

Just a quick one: how does people transport their IXMOOs?

The IXMOO cassette has gotten very expensive, and naturally you'd want to have them protected, yet available. The bakelite canister is bulky and brittle, and the cassette doesn't fit ordinary film tubes.

So how do you do it? How do you carry one or two, for a walk? Are there any leather sleeves that fit?

How do you take them in bulk for travel? I think the JCH case works, how about the Chinese knockoffs?

I use the japan Camera Hundters case. The 10 pack's for travel and the more compact 5 roll one for "walk-about". It fits nicely in a jacket/vest pocket.
Only problem with the IXMOO is that Air Line security checks don't like them. Obvoiusly they show up as a dense "blob" on the screen. Coming back from Europe some years ago with a bag of 25 of them - a gift from a friend, so not yet loaded. I had to demonstrate each of them, opening/closing and even pull a couple apart to satisfy their curiosity.

IXMOO's in the bellamy Boxes (Japan Camera Hunter). Added advantage to these boxes it that can also hold finders and spare batteries. I recommend that you buy the original and support Bellamy - rather than cheaper (somewhat cheaper) knock offs.

I'm thinking that a case of five is to much for a walk, I rarely do more than one roll in a day to be honest.
Have not encountered any problems at the airport so far!

The Rollei Two-film canisters are also high enough to fit IXMOOs, so those are an option if you want to carry less than 5.

I have an old B+W filter pouch with additional space for one film. I use the Bakelite container too. I wouldn't carry it in the bag like I do with normal film cos I'm afraid it would accidentally get opened

I must have an old version of these, because mine (that came with Rollei Retro film) won't take the IXMOOs..

In the bakelite case, they are not only heavy things, they are also noisy.
I use old kodak opaque plastic canisters.
notice that the IXMOOs are not 100% light tight, so I don't use the modern TX transparent boxes.

You made me doubt myself, so I just checked, and they certainly fit.

I guess they did change the canister. (Or did you use a FILCA instead of an IXMOO? IIRC, those are a bit higher than the IXMOO).

If I'm mistaking my IXMOOs for FILCAs, I must also mistake my M3s for IIIs? 😉

Great idea with the finders!
Bellamy's cases are excellent, I have a pair of 10s for the long trip with a 5 for the day out.
