Travel? Is your luggage secure?

There is no such thing as secure checked baggage on commercial flights any more. Security can open any bag for any reason. Baggage handlers can open any bag, not legally, but it happens illegally.

My job teaches me that there's no such thing as 100% security or 100% safety. I wonder if there's such thing as a RF photographer who checks in his/her camera gear? probably those who travel with much more than one-two RF cameras and a couple of lenses?

Any more? If any, things have slightly improved after 9-11 as the airport and airline security now are afraid that baggage handlers might slip in explosives, while they paid less attention when they only were supposed to be stealing everything more valuable than dirty laundry.

Don't worry too much about your luggage, imagine how secure are YOU at any place any day. I mean, you can be opened and traced in the name of global security, if there's a shade of doubt.

Showed that trick the other day to a coworker who's keys were stuck in a coat pocket with a broken zipper, about a moment before he was going to cut the coat open.
