Hi guys, for those of you who like also SLRs, in another forum (nikoncafe) I'm proposing a traveling camera around the world and I'm willing to use my FM3A and 50 F/1.8. For those interested to play, let me know. For now is just a draft idea. Let me just understand if it might be feasible or not

A couple of thoughts spring to mind:
1) Do you really want to risk losing an FM3a?
2) Sending the camera from country to country could get quite expensive.
3) ... and involve a fair few trips through X-ray scanners.

I get your point, and I thought about it.
Everything in life is a risk. Sure, I might incur in a dishonest member, a thief among the many couriers, custom officers, everyone who will have in hands just for a second... or just a lost shipment or an accident along its path... Maybe I wouldn't risk the F6 or the D700 because they really cost too much to be replaced, but ..maybe.. I might try with the FM3A.. I've always thought of it as a world-made camera, and for a single second I might have back my FM3A with some little (good) marks, yours (i.e. of those who want to participate) and little things with it coming from all over the world.. well, I'd be happy and would trust in friendship, photography and all good things once more. It's kind of a bet. Yes, I might lose it, but what if I win? We'll all feel part of something bigger than us.
About X-ray, each member will choose his/her own film and shoot locally, including at the end a picture he/she liked with some comments, even in the smallest format (4x6 or littler) so that I'll have an album at the end of the places where it traveled. In the end, everything should weight less than 1 kg and each member will face only one shipment toward the next one... No other things with the camera. Camera, lens, envelope for the pictures and list of those who want to participate, so that everyone will check his place and will know where to send next. That's all.
p.s.: maybe I'm just figuring out one more excuse ( I'm without my FM3A ) to exploit the Ikon + Biogon who're coming soon to the fullest.
