...which happened to me, last night. Because of an accident, then Intercity train from Hamburg to Duesseldorf needs to take a redirection. We have had a stop in a small village near Bremen. It was exactly a minute before seven p.m., sun down time.
Suddenly I saw this picture, and damned: I don't have the Epson with me...
...your honorable admin, I will make the point soon, just two more sentences...and yes, it something to do with Epson RD-1 rangefinder...
What a beautiful picture this could have been...I remembered the saying "the worst camera is the one you don't have at hand" and thought about the built-in 1.3 mpix lens in my mobile phone and take the shoot.
Not so bad, isnt it?
Working with the RD-1 was very helpful. You "feel" a picture when working with rangefinder cameras, and at a certain point, you make the best out of what you have. You will be educated by the camera. For me, working with rangefinders means "using" limitations, not trying to "overcome" them. No zooming in, zooming out, anti-rattle-device, no picture sujet alarm, no face recognition.
Just trying to take a picture, regardless, whats at hand in this certain moment.
Just some thoughts while drinking a cold beer after work...
Cheers, Andreas
