I've been using Costco for the last month of my trip back in time with film. That is their develpment and scanning. They do give me some acceptably high resolution scanning. Nothing like my Nikon film scanner, but up there in the 4 mg JPG files per image. Pretty usable, really.
This week I tried Walmart. They are about a half a dollar cheaper, but files are about a meg and a half. Pretty plastic looking and the two rolls so far have been very over exposed and I know the negatives were fine, since I scanned a few with my Nikon. The girls at Walmart are very helpful, though. They can't change the machine from default, though. You are stuck with their low resolution stuff.
Anybody found a Walmart with folks who can change the default settings. I'd be curious if you have found some who can give you the best the machine can do.
