I love my R2 and it has worked reliably for years EXCEPT when I use the trigger winder. Then I can get overlapping frames. I know the problem is mine, but I don't know how to solve it - I have used Ms with Rapidwinders and Leicavits with no issue, but not the Bessa. Help, please.

I experienced the same thing a couple of times with an R3A with winder... I replaced the kit with a Leica before I worked out what was wrong however!

I have the trigger winder on my R2 and I love having it on there, even if I'm not using the trigger. It makes the camera so much more comfortable for me to hold.

As far as overlap, I have not experienced this yet, but I have had a few cases of uneven frame spacing. I think it happens if you're trying to advance the film too fast. I try to have a solid grip on the camera and have one fluid motion to advance the trigger. You can't be "jerky" with the advance I think that is what causes the spacing issues.

On the other hand if you advance TOO hard then you could cause full overlap.

It's like shifting a manual transmission on a car, you just have to get into that right groove ;)
