Trouble getting Agfa stuff

I do not know if it is old news, but I want to share my frustration trying to get Agfa stuff.

I know Agfa is in trouble so I went to my local store to pick up a couple of bottles of Rodinal. It was gone, but they had it on order and was promised that it would be there in a couple of days. Days went past, then they phoned the distributor and was told it Agfa was out of it.

I live in Uppsala (~200,000 people), so I went to Stockholm (>5 times larger) to pick up my TLR that was ready at the repair shop (new focus screen). I actually found 3 bottles of Rodinal in Stockholm, so I bought all 3 of them.

Then I ordered 100 rolls of APX 100 in 120 format from a swedish mail order company that had good price on them. I got an email this morning informing me that they were out of APX 100, it was discontinued and they would not be able to get it anymore. They deleted my order.

I do not like this, but at least I am somewhat happy that I have a couple of bottles of Rodinal in my closet, otherwise I would be really miserable.

Like I already said in the TLR thread: Agfa stopped production of APX100 in 120 size (not in 35mm size, where it is stil made) completely a few months ago (long before their bankrupcy) - without anouncing it to the oublic; this has now been confirmed by a variety of reliable sources (high-volume film mail-order companies & the main Agfa US representative, John Auer). Some mail-order companies who were told in advance ordered a lot of stock and have still left some APX100-120, but most dealers are running out of it.

PS: And as I also said already: Fomapan 100 is the perfect replacement for APX100.

I got an email today from Freestyle saying they have lowered the price of APX.

Had the same problem ordering APX100 bulk rolls from Adorama and Freestyle. The last time I checked, the expected delivery date was moved to Dec 31st. I just changed my order to Arista II bulk rolls.

FWIW, I just received a 100ft. roll of APX 100 from Adorama. I don't know how long the supply will last. I ordered via internet last Monday. I also got a 100 ft. roll of Arista II from Freestyle and it looks identical except for the label.
